Elsa Wells International Championships 1998 Duel of the Giants:

Corky and Shirley Ballas vs Brian Torner, Brigitt Mayer and Ralph Laphene Brian, Brigitte and Ralph have proved that despite popular belief it takes THREE to tango. They demonstrated a whole new range of innovative steps and figures for three to dance. Wow! (The only bad news is that you need one more male partner to dance them!) Corky and Shirley entertained us dancing rumba to Titanic song, performed live by their own singer (see picture). In their second number Corky and Shirley danced a breathtaking man-woman power struggle show, won (obviously) by Shirley at the end. For our enterainment Corky had even water splashed on his face and a bottle smashed on his head! What a dedication! Both teams received enormous ovations, however on close examination Corky and Shirley Ballas had an edge and were declared the winners of this most entertaining match. Thank you Corky, Shirley, Brian, Ralph and Brigitt for superb work and so entertaining shows.
